Schisandra is a wild-tree liana originating from Northeast China and Mongolia. In Traditional Apothecary, Schisandra is a miracle adaptogen, which means it helps the whole body. The fruit extract is very high in antioxidants, which (among other properties) helps the skin retain moisture. In Chinese Medicine, it is used to treat a stunning variety of other conditions and illnesses—from high cholesterol to radiation exposure.

Skin ages from changes in all of the three structural components of the skin: the epidermis, the dermis and the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ).
